The case went to trial and in a not so shocking outcome (Muslim judge) this is what happened.

“Having had the benefit of having spent over 2 and a half years in predominantly Muslim countries I think I know a little bit about the faith of Islam. In fact I have a copy of the Koran here and I challenge you sir to show me where it says in the Koran that Mohammad arose and walked among the dead. I think you misinterpreted things. Before you start mocking someone else’s religion you may want to find out a little bit more about it it makes you look like a dufus and Mr. (Defendant) is correct. In many Arabic speaking countries something like this is definitely against the law there. In their society in fact it can be punishable by death and it frequently is in their society.

Judge Martin then offered a lesson in Islam, stating,

“Islam is not just a religion, it’s their culture, their culture. It’s their very essence their very being. They pray five times a day towards Mecca to be a good Muslim, before you die you have to make a pilgrimage to Mecca unless you are otherwise told you can not because you are too ill too elderly, whatever but you must make the attempt. Their greetings wa-laikum as-Salâm (is answered by voice) may god be with you. Whenever, it’s very common when speaking to each other it’s very common for them to say uh this will happen it’s it they are so immersed in it.

Judge Martin further complicates the issue by not only abrogating the First Amendment, but completely misunderstanding it when he said,

“Then what you have done is you have completely trashed their essence, their being. They find it very very very offensive. I’m a Muslim, I find it offensive. But you have that right, but you’re way outside your boundaries or first amendment rights. This is what, and I said I spent about 7 and a half years living in other countries. when we go to other countries it’s not uncommon for people to refer to us as ugly Americans this is why we are referred to as ugly Americans, because we are so concerned about our own rights we don’t care about other people’s rights as long as we get our say but we don’t care about the other people’s say”

But wait, it gets worse. The Judge refused to allow the video into evidence, and then said,

“All that aside I’ve got here basically.. I don’t want to say he said she said but I’ve got two sides of the story that are in conflict with each other.”

And,

“The preponderance of, excuse me, the burden of proof… “

And,

“…he has not proven to me beyond a reasonable doubt that this defendant is guilty of harassment, therefore I am going to dismiss the charge”

Nothing about how ignorance of law is no excuse or anything about the assault. Nothing but a whole lot of blah blah blab about Muslim faith and law. A complete and total misunderstanding of the 1st Amendment by a U.S. (Muslim) judge who ruled on emotion and not the law.

A Saudi court ordered he be flogged 120 times and banned him from leaving the country for 5 years. The maximum amount of wives allowed under Islamic (shariah) law is 4. He had 6.

Members of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice, the Kingdom’s most influential law enforcing body, arrested their colleague after reports that he has six wives, in violation of Islamic law which allows a man to have a maximum four wives at a time.

According to the Arabic language daily Kabar, his colleagues discovered that he had three Saudi wives, one expatriate and two foreign spouses who reside illegally in the world’s dominant oil power and largest Arab economy.

The judge also sentenced the unnamed man to six weeks in jail and fined him SR3,000 ($800), the paper said.

“The judge banned him from travelling outside Saudi Arabia for five years and ordered him lashed 120 times in three sessions…each session includes 40 lashes and should be done every 15 days,” it said.

Let us not forget, these are the same Saudis President Obama bowed to. These are the same Saudis who execute women for practicing witchcraft. Now to their credit, they are considering allowing women to drive.

Once a photograph of a unanimous Afghani girl become the National Geographic magazine’s most famous photograph, who was identified 17 years later as Sharbat Gul. Today a rape victim from Qatif in Saudi Arabia has become the scrutiny of media.

This 19 year Qatif girl was abducted and raped by six men but instead of justice she got 90 lashes as punishment in October, 2006 which has been doubled to 200 lashes and 6 months prison after an appeal by the victim’s lawyer, who said that the sentence was unjust for victim. The punishment was enhanced for aggravating the matter and speaking it to media to influence the courts.

This matter has sent a shock wave to the international community and human rights concerns.

But the Saudi Arabia’s Judiciary remains unaltered by the reaction and said that the charges are proved against women for being in the car with an unrelated male and criticised her lawyer Rahman al- Lahim talking insolently against judicial system.

“For whomever has an objection on verdicts issued, the system allows to appeal without resorting to the media,” said the statement carried on the official Saudi Press Agency.

The Ministry of Justice said in a statement that it welcomes constructive criticism, away from emotions and said that the woman has contentedly accepted the verdict against her.

Accusing Al–Lahim of ignorance and reaching out to media the court banned him for further defending the woman and seized his license.

The FBI today said that its proposed plans to monitor social media sites as part of a broader strategy to improve real-time situation awareness will be fully vetted by the agency’s Privacy and Civil Liberties Unit.

The unit will review the legal implications of the monitoring application and ensure that it meets all privacy and civil rights obligations before it is implemented, the agency said in a statement emailed to Computerworld “Although the FBI has always adapted to meet changes in technology, the rule of law, civil liberties, and civil rights, will remain our guiding principles,” the agency said.

The FBI was responding to questions about its plans to use technology to quickly gather and analyze data posted on sites such as Facebook, Twitter and on blogs using simple keyword searches and phrases.

In a Request For Information (RFI) last month, the FBI said that data posted on such sites would let it more quickly detect specific and credible threats, locate those organizing and taking part in dangerous gatherings and predict upcoming events.

The word is much more negative for muslims than the definition sounds. Evidence is abundant of what muslims have done to non-believers world wide. Especially in Muslim nations.
